Core changes of the new regulation: First, comprehensively upgraded energy efficiency requirements, passenger elevators must reach energy efficiency grade 2 and above, escalators must reach energy efficiency grade 3 and above, and the energy efficiency grade must be marked on the product nameplate; Second, tightened electrical safety requirements, upgraded the safety requirements of elevator electrical systems, requiring elevator electrical equipment to have waterproof, dustproof, and anti-corrosion properties; Third, upgraded fire performance requirements, clarifying that materials used in elevator cars, landing doors, and shaft enclosure structures must comply with Egyptian fire protection standards; Fourth, mandatory requirements for safety components, core safety components such as elevator safety gears, speed limiters, buffers, and door lock devices must obtain GOEIC certification separately; Fifth, adjusted certification process, elevator products must first obtain the GOEIC type approval certificate, and must apply for the product conformity certificate when each batch of goods is cleared.
