This new regulation is for imported elevators and core safety components in the UAE. The core contents include: all imported elevator products must obtain UAE GSO certification, and provide product certificate of origin, type test report, and international standard compliance statement; it is mandatory that the core safety components of imported elevators (traction machine, control cabinet, safety gear, buffer) must be traceable, and each batch of products must be accompanied by a unique identification code; the new regulation strengthens the onshore inspection process, implements 100% document review and 20% batch sampling inspection for imported elevators, and products that fail the inspection will be directly returned and prohibited from entering the UAE market. At the same time, the new regulation clarifies the main responsibility of importers, and will revoke the import qualification of enterprises that repeatedly import non-compliant products. This new regulation will further standardize the UAE elevator import market and improve the safety and compliance threshold of imported elevator products.
