The core contents of this policy include: mandating that all new elevators must be equipped with intelligent operation and maintenance systems as standard, with functions of real-time monitoring, fault early warning, emergency alarm and remote diagnosis; clarifying the time node for the installation of intelligent operation and maintenance systems for existing elevators, completing the installation of elevators in public buildings by the end of 2025, and realizing full coverage of residential elevators by the end of 2027; establishing a unified data platform for intelligent elevator operation and maintenance in South Korea, realizing data intercommunication between regulatory authorities, user units and maintenance units; setting up special subsidies, providing up to 30% cost support for eligible installation projects. The policy will be officially implemented on January 1, 2025.
