Modular Aviation Maintenance Training Center Completed near Porto
Completed in September 2026, this modular project in Porto, Portugal was delivered around a specific operating workflow rather than a repeated room template. A high-bay workshop, glazed technical classrooms, tool-control room and component inspection laboratory form one teaching sequence beside the airfield. Students can see workshop activity from the classroom before moving into supervised practical bays.
A Visible Learning Sequence
Large workshop openings, overhead services and equipment stands were coordinated before module close-up. The classroom wing uses conventional volumetric modules, while the high-bay zone uses a wider structural frame tied to the same service spine.
High-Bay Structure and Tool Control
The completed center makes tool accountability and component inspection visible parts of training. Secure issue, return and metrology benches sit between classroom and workshop rather than being treated as back-of-house storage.
Structural openings, primary service routes, lifting points and module junctions were resolved before interior close-up. Factory records covered concealed work, penetration sealing, dimensions and transport protection.
Workshop Commissioning
Foundations, utility entries and crane positions were checked before delivery. Modules were placed in operating sequence, connections and weather seals were completed, and specialist rooms were tested against their intended function rather than accepted only on visual finish.
Compliance and Project Record
The ICC/MBI off-site standards programme is a useful reference for dividing factory and site responsibilities where adopted. Final structural, fire, accessibility, energy and operational approvals remain subject to the local authority and appointed professionals.
- Room data and specialist equipment were coordinated before production.
- Factory and site inspection evidence was consolidated for handover.
- Transport, lifting, connections and commissioning had named responsibilities.
