This amendment makes core revisions to the EU 2014/33/UE Lift Directive. The core contents include: requiring EU compliance assessment bodies to give priority to compliance applications for elevator products related to crises; refining the type test supervision requirements for elevator safety components, and strengthening supply chain compliance traceability; clarifying the cross-border coordinated law enforcement process of market supervision authorities of EU member states, and increasing the penalties for non-compliant products. The amendment requires EU member states to complete the transformation of national laws before May 29, 2026, and it will be officially fully implemented on May 30, 2026. This revision will further unify the access threshold of the EU elevator market, strengthen the compliance supervision of the whole product life cycle, and have a direct impact on the international trade of elevator products exported to the EU.
