This standard applies to elevators used in explosive gas atmospheres (Zone 0/1/2) and explosive dust atmospheres (Zone 20/21/22). Core revisions and upgrades are as follows:

First, Full Coverage of Explosion-Proof Grades, clarifying five explosion-proof types: flameproof (d), increased safety (e), intrinsically safe (i), pressurized (p) and encapsulated (m), adding technical requirements for composite explosion-proof elevators (e.g., d+e, i+m), adapting to different danger level scenarios;

Second, Mandatory Electrical Safety Specifications, all electrical components (control panel, motor, switch, sensor) must comply with Ex explosion-proof certification, strictly prohibiting sparks, arcs and high-temperature surfaces (temperature class T1-T6), adding special requirements for dust explosion-proof, anti-corrosion and waterproof;

Third, Structure and Material Standards, car, shaft and landing door must adopt explosion-proof materials such as 304/316 stainless steel and cast steel, with no sharp corners and static accumulation on the surface, joint gaps strictly controlled (≤0.15mm) to prevent flame propagation;

Fourth, Testing and Certification Requirements, adding 1.5 times rated pressure explosion test, 800-hour continuous operation test, dust penetration test and anti-corrosion test, type test report must be issued by national explosion-proof testing institution;

Fifth, Installation and O&M Specifications, clarifying mandatory requirements for explosion-proof elevators such as grounding resistance ≤1Ω, anti-static grounding, explosion-proof cable selection and sealing treatment, specifying maintenance personnel must hold explosion-proof equipment operation certificate, and maintenance records permanently archived.

After implementation, this standard will fully improve the safety level of China's explosion-proof elevators, break international technical barriers, and provide authoritative standard support for Chinese explosion-proof elevators to export to petroleum and chemical markets in Middle East, Europe and Southeast Asia.
